English perfection.
Having visited the Cotswolds distillery, I knew just how good this nectar is. All the different barrel maturations are really good. Highly recommended and great service from LoveScotch. This one is very concentrated in flavor/flavour. Ha. Sip it slow and be amazed.
Goldie Locks hot chocolate, blackberries, and raspberries
The Founder’s Choice has a pleasant strawberry/raspberry nose. At 60.3% ABV full cask strength, the palate opens powerfully with woody notes, followed by barley, then mid-chocolate – not bitter-dark, not sweet-milk, a just-right mid-chocolate, a Goldie Locks chocolate – just right – like drinking the perfect hot-chocolate in a cold winter’s evening – warming from head to toe. The chocolate is joined by blackberries and raspberries, then a hint of salted caramel. It has an oily full-mouthfeel – thick on the glass like honey that slowly forms its legs, which last for days delivering a long and luscious finish of spicy ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and cranberry… then candied orange with the peel. This is an incredible dram that rivals the finest scotches. The rapid-aging STR (Shaved, Toasted, and Re-charred) in ex-red wine casks is a masterpiece. Drink slow, drink long, drink a variety, drink often.
