The Balvenie 12 Year Old DoubleWood Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Collection: The Balvenie
The Balvenie 12 Year Old DoubleWood Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a distinguished expression hailing from the heart of Scotland. Crafted in the traditional Speyside style, this exceptional whisky undergoes a unique maturation process that sets it apart. Aged for a dozen years, it first rests in traditional oak barrels before being transferred to European oak sherry casks. This double maturation imparts a depth of flavor and complexity that defines The Balvenie's commitment to time-honored craftsmanship.
On the palate, The Balvenie 12 Year Old DoubleWood offers a rich and layered experience. The influence of the sherry casks introduces notes of dried fruits, nuts, and a subtle hint of spice. The smooth and honeyed texture is a testament to the careful aging process, providing a well-rounded and satisfying sip. The whisky's style reflects the essence of Speyside, balancing sweetness with a nuanced complexity that captures the connoisseur's attention.
The nose of this single malt is a symphony of aromas, revealing the sweet notes of vanilla, honey, and toffee. As the whisky breathes, delicate hints of oak and dried fruits emerge, inviting anticipation for the sensory journey that awaits. The Balvenie 12 Year Old DoubleWood is bottled at an ideal 43% alcohol content, ensuring a harmonious balance that allows the intricate flavors to shine. This exceptional single malt scotch whisky is a testament to The Balvenie's unwavering dedication to quality and the mastery of the distiller's art

OUR VERY FAVORITE SCOTCH FOR MORE THAN 30 YEARS
After retiring from the Army with three assignments in Europe, I thought I was an expert -- or close to an expert -- on Scotch. I was not. After my retirement, an Air Force friend who had two assignments in Scotland introduced my wife and me to Balvenie Double Barrel, and it has now been our favorite Scotch for over three decades. We have tried and enjoyed many other Scotches since our introduction to Balvenie; however, Balvenie remains our favorite since the first sip. If you enjoy Scotch, a bottle of Balvenie Double Barrel should be on your "must-try" list. Mike & Barbara
