During the ripening, Lacrima di Morro grape’s skin starts dripping its juice, looking like a “tear” (“Lacrima” in Italian); for this reason, the wine takes its name. Lacrima di Morro is an old variety known since ancient times. Lacrima di Morro is one of the smallest Italian DOC, established in 1985 and can only be produced in the tiny area of Morro d’Alba (Ancona). Intense ruby red color with violet hues. The nose is rich and intense, with nots of strawberry, marasca cherry, violet flowers and rose bud. On the palate it has a full sapidity and smooth tannins. Overall it is soft, and it reflects all the aromas felt at the nose. Good persistence.
