Sandeman Porto Tawny 10 Year Old 750ml is an aged tawny Port from Portugal’s Douro region with the DOC Porto designation. Hand-picked grapes are destemmed and crushed before temperature-controlled fermentation with skin maceration; wine spirit is added at the point selected to balance body and aroma. After harvest, the wines remain in the Douro until the following spring, then move to Sandeman’s lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia for maturation in oak casks. The final blend draws from wines aged between nine and twelve years. This single 750ml bottle is bottled at 20% ABV / 40 proof.
Its intense red-tawny color carries brick tones, followed by an elegant, complex aroma of ripe fruit, jam and nuts with vanilla and raisin accents. The palate is full-bodied and appealing, with concentrated fruit, oak-aged depth and a persistent finish. Sandeman recommends serving it slightly chilled between 12°C and 16°C; decanting is not required, though aeration is beneficial. The producer pairs it with rich appetizers, blue cheese, custards, ice cream, and desserts featuring figs, nuts or raisins, and recommends consuming an opened bottle within two to three months.
