Sandeman Porto Fine Ruby 750ml is a traditional ruby Port from Portugal’s Douro region, carrying the DOC Porto designation. Hand-picked grapes are destemmed and crushed before temperature-controlled fermentation with skin maceration. Grape spirit is added at the point chosen to balance body, sweetness and aroma. The wines remain in the Douro until the following spring, then travel to Sandeman’s lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia for maturation in oak casks and blending. This single 750ml bottle is finished at 19.5% ABV / 39 proof.
Brilliant ruby red in color, Fine Ruby opens with clean red-fruit aromas, including plum and strawberry. The palate is rich and round while remaining balanced, with fresh plum and red-fruit flavors carrying through the finish. Sandeman recommends serving it between 14°C and 16°C without decanting. Its fruit and gentle sweetness pair naturally with creamy, full-flavored cheeses, chocolate desserts or fruit pies. Once opened, the producer recommends enjoying the bottle within four weeks while storing it upright in a cool, protected place.
