Port Ellen Gemini 1978 is an extraordinary Islay single malt Scotch whisky, limited to just 274 sets worldwide. Distilled in 1978 and matured for 44 years in European oak, this exclusive release features two expressions with distinct maturation journeys. The Original reveals baked apple, manuka honey, sweet seaweed, maritime character, and signature bonfire smoke, while the Remnant offers rich sherry, prunes, tobacco, sea salt, and deep oak spice.
Bottled at 54.9% ABV and 53.6% ABV respectively, these rare whiskies showcase two interpretations of Port Ellen's celebrated smoky character. Best enjoyed neat in a tasting glass, allowing each expression to open gradually and reveal its remarkable depth, complexity, and lingering smoky finish.
