Martin Ray Chardonnay Sonoma Coast 2021 is a Sonoma Coast Chardonnay from Martin Ray Vineyards & Winery. The producer’s exact vintage technical sheet and the distributor bottle asset agree on the 2021 release. This is one 750 mL bottle at 13.8% ABV.
The wine was aged for 11 months with 40% new French oak. The producer describes citrus blossom, apple and lemon curd on the nose, followed by apricot, lemon meringue and a mineral impression of wet stone and oyster shell. Oak spice, salinity and bright acidity frame the fruit while keeping the finish fresh and focused.
Serve well chilled in a white-wine glass, allowing a few minutes in the glass for the aromas to open. Pair it with roast chicken, grilled fish, shellfish, creamy pasta, soft cheeses or vegetable dishes with herbs and butter.
