Mar de Frades Brut Nature is a sparkling Albariño from the Rías Baixas denomination in Galicia, Spain. The winery harvests Albariño clusters by hand in crates in Val do Salnés, then manually selects the grapes at the winery before processing. A second fermentation takes place in the bottle at 12–13°C, followed by aging on the lees until disgorgement. This release comes in one 750ml bottle at 12% ABV (24 proof).
Mar de Frades describes the wine as golden yellow with lemon-green hues. Its producer notes move from bottle-aging character to sea-water, eucalyptus, and white-fruit aromas associated with Albariño, followed by toasted and almond-shell accents. The palate is described as broad, flavorful, creamy, and fresh. The winery recommends serving it between 8°C and 10°C and pairs it with fish and seafood, including scallops or oysters. The distinctive blue bottle carries a Brut Nature neck band, Albariño Atlántico front label, and wave artwork.
