Mal Bien Victor + Emanuel Ramos comes from the small community of Mengoli de Morelos in Miahuatlán, Oaxaca, where father and son carry forward the Ramos family’s mezcal-making tradition. This region is celebrated for its wild agave diversity, and the Ramos family’s Espadín reflects the rugged land and careful artistry of generations. Cooked underground with encino, guamuche, and mesquite for six days, the agave rests before being crushed by ox-drawn tahona and fermented in open air, then twice distilled in copper refrescadera stills.
The result is a mezcal joven that sits at 48% ABV, full of character and depth. Notes of smoke and wood interlace with earthy sweetness, touches of minerality, and the herbal brightness of Espadín agave. Each sip carries a balance of rustic power and refined elegance, making it both complex and approachable.
