Jypsi Explorer is a Tennessee-curated American whiskey born in Nashville from the vision of Eric Church and Raj Alva, crafted with the guidance of blender Ari Sussman. This first Explorer release begins with two six-year-old bourbons sourced from Kentucky and Indiana, built on a mash bill of 66% corn, 30% rye, and 4% malted barley. Slowly proofed to 103, the blend is finished with French oak from the Forest of Trançais and American oak from the Appalachian Mountains, adding depth without overshadowing balance.
The nose opens gently with rye spice, caramel, leather, and charred oak, softened by dried apricot and a savory edge. On the palate, candy-like sweetness meets vanilla, caramel, and oak, followed by juicy dried fruit, subtle raisin, and a distinctive dry lift from the oak finishing. The finish settles into baking spices, milk chocolate, and lingering dry oak, complex yet restrained.
