Gekkeikan Horin Junmai Daiginjo Sake 720ml is Gekkeikan’s flagship premium sake from Fushimi, Kyoto, Japan. It is brewed from Yamada Nishiki and Gohyakumangoku sake rice, polished to 50% of the original grain, and bottled at 16.4% ABV. The junmai daiginjo classification reflects brewing without added distilled alcohol and the high degree of rice polishing. This single 720ml bottle carries Horin’s distinctive gold-wrapped presentation.
Gekkeikan describes Horin as aromatic, rounded, and exceptionally smooth. Creamy rice and banana lead into melon, pear, Asian pear, and green apple, while lively acidity keeps the fuller texture fresh and balanced throughout the palate. Mushroom and chestnut notes add savory umami and support a medium-dry palate. The finish is long and clean, with a fleeting prune note. Serve Horin chilled or at room temperature, preferably in a wine glass to give its fruit aromas room to open.
