FEW Spirits builds the whiskey from three components: its bourbon finished in rum barrels, its bourbon finished in vermouth barrels, and a mesquite-smoked wheat whiskey. Bottled at 50.5% ABV (101 proof) in a 750ml format, the blend brings distinct finishing and smoke treatments into one deliberately unconventional American whiskey.
The producer describes Motor Oil as full-flavored and complex, with grassy sweetness from the rum-barrel component, herbaceous, bitter, and vegetal notes from the vermouth-barrel component, and a heavy current of mesquite smoke from the wheat whiskey.
