Complicated Red Wine hails from the Monterey County region, with a unique blend of 69% Grenache and 31% Syrah. The grapes are sourced from two distinct vineyard sites: Grenache from the Arroyo Seco riverbed and Syrah from benchland west of the Salinas River Valley. The region’s cool coastal influence, along with the area’s abundant sunshine, allows for a long growing season, resulting in fruit with complex, dark flavors.

This wine boasts a rich and elegant aroma profile, thanks to its meticulous winemaking process. The Grenache undergoes a cold soak for 24 hours, preserving its delicate aroma bouquet, followed by fermentation with a specially selected yeast strain. The Syrah undergoes extended skin contact to enhance its color and aromatics, fermented with a yeast that elevates the fruit’s spice and complexity. Both varietals were aged in French and American oak barrels, creating a balance of varietal expression and subtle oak influence.

With an alcohol content of 14.1%, Complicated Red Wine showcases its full-bodied character through a balance of fruit-forward berry notes and deeper spice nuances. This wine can be enjoyed on its own or paired with grilled meats, roasted vegetables, and hearty dishes. Its complexity and depth make it an ideal choice for those who appreciate a well-structured red.
